Greetings to anyone joining this blog. The reason for this blog is as stated in the info paragraph. We are currently faced with serious issues regarding long term unemployment. Will we ever find jobs? Will Congress pass yet another extension to help those of us who are still unemployed and looking for jobs in this terrible job market? What is Congress doing to stop the outsourcing of our jobs to other countries? Countries where American companies are allowed to pay what is considered slave wages in the United States!
This blog is for the discussion of the possible boycotting of all companies that are outsourcing jobs to other countries, companies who are sending our badly needed jobs to countries where the employees are paid 10 cents an hour so they can sell their products to Americans at a profit of 1000 percent, but it is not limited to such extreme cases either. please feel free to invite others to join us where we can freely and without ridicule discuss the changes needed to get back on our feet and make a difference for the future.

Greetings. Thank you for initiating this blog. I just learned from Greater Boston Legal Services of an amendment filed by Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) which would change a federal regulations that is killing me- I worked and earned $6k last year via temp job with US Census-federal extension regs required my state to look for other employment on which to base my claim at end of benefit year 12/09- so I was removed from the fed. extension at $625 per week-I'd lost a $68k job at end of '07- and as of 01/10, I now receive a benefit of $114 a week. This sea change has caused me to lose an apartment and depend on the kindness of relatives for housing and my other basic needs. I'll post more info on amendment when I hear back from Sen. Kerry's office.
ReplyDeleteSo why can't we have our own business? Must we be at the mercy of someone else holding the fate in their hands?
